I am professor of Practical Philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, and co-director of the project "Capacities and the Good". My research focusses on philosophy of action, ethics and metaethics. Within our joint project, I not only hope to get a better understanding of what abilities are, but also to explore the different ways in which they give rise to normative standards. In particular, I am interested in how developing an adequate metaphysics of abilities can support Kantian constitutivist approaches to morality.
